The main entrance of the building faces east.
The glass wall of the main entrance is flanked by a square building on each side, with a small, triangular open space created between the building on the left side, which is aligned longitudinally with the front line, and the entrance building. The front of the polygonal building on the left is decorated with dense grooves. The ornamental wall section extends slightly beyond the next wall of the building. This part of the building has a flat roof, on which there are 3 pieces of equipment. Moving further to the left, next to the parking lot, we come to the next section of the building which is decorated with ribbing on its wall, and which could also be another main entrance to the museum, a glass building that is mostly built on an irregular triangle base with a broken corner. Its rear part is recessed into the building, and its roof slopes backwards. The entrance is followed by an exit section shaded by a sloping roof and also decorated with a break in the wall. On its roof, there is a smaller and a recessed larger tent roof which connects to the adjacent roof building and a smaller auxiliary roof section. This is followed by another section of the building, which is decorated with 7 strips of glass windows on its wall, and on its roof, there is a larger roof building with two ventilation devices, and four smaller devices.
The rear part of the building is defined by the entrance to the IMAX (Infinity Theater). At the entrance, on each side, there is a more ornate building with triangles and wall decorations between two tent-roofed glass buildings, its façade featuring recesses that mimic windows. In the middle, the entrance has a wavy roof supported by columns at its ends, flanked by smaller sections of the building with outward sloping roofs followed by a thinner wall section following the entrance.
The next section of the building also features the strip of glass windows known from the other side, with a larger roof building identical to the one on the other side and a more complex larger auxiliary roof building on top.
Thus, we arrive at the part of the building that also includes the entrance to the Morgridge Family Exploration Center, the lower levels of this section are decorated with recesses, and the glass part of the entrance continues in a glass building that turns out from the corner following a rounded corner. The roof section contains air conditioning units in a recessed space.
Continuing to the right, we reach the counterpart of the polygonal building section from the left, which has a ventilation device on its roof.
Above the main entrance, there is a larger terrace with a sloping roof building that one can go out to. Attached to this is the complex’s tallest section of the building, which has numerous mechanical devices and buildings on its roof. Moving backwards, following supporting walls on the left, a longitudinal building section with a sloping roof is followed by a transverse, larger tent roof with numerous connection points to neighboring roof buildings, including the central roof section, which progresses stepwise from the side, with its two arms following the lines of the IMAX glass tent roofs. Its roof has numerous mechanical buildings and devices.
