What I do
Through Even Grounds, I provide holistic accessibility consulting for travel and tourism: accessibility audits, tactile exhibits and 3D-printed models, tactile maps, disability awareness training for staff, and museum consulting. My work covers people with all types of disabilities.
We also provide 3D design and printing to create tactile objects for visually impaired people. I work with several designers who are experts in different areas such as maps, buildings, art, and educational tools. Our models, building replicas, tactile maps, and educational tools are used and exhibited on four continents.
I was born blind, and I travel constantly, so I bring a user’s perspective to the barriers I help my clients remove, not just a consultant’s. In my free time, I am a coin collector, and I speak about coin and currency accessibility. I am passionate about cultures, languages, and history.
About this site
This site started out as a travel blog and became the home of my consulting business. The blog still covers travel for blind people: museum visits, accessible product and service reviews, and my tactile 3D projects. I always have a next trip in the planning, and many of them end up here as accessibility reviews.
